The Coton De Tulear is becoming more popular and as a result there are breeders out there who obtained their breeding Coton De Tulear's from places with very questionable pedigrees. Unfortunately, the Coton De Tulear is also being mixed with other breeds creating a mutt, or in fancy terms a hybrid mix/designer dog, no guarantee of the health when 2 different breeds are mixed intentionally to create a "designer breed" Also, no guarantee of temperment.
The pure bred Coton De Tulear is expensive and with careful research one should be able to determine the difference.
The Coton De Tulear has obtained full recognition with AKC on July 2nd 2014. Unfortunately, this is not a good move for the Coton De Tulear breed as more and more breeders will be popping up without regards to health, temperment and maintaining the wonderful qualities that makes the Coton De Tulear so special. We cannot stress enough to research and do not price shop. The pure bred Coton De Tulear is expensive, do not be fooled by imitation. The more you research the more you will be able to tell between quality Coton De Tulear and those that are just breeding to breed without any goals or knowledge about their Coton De Tulear ancestors.
While the link is graphic we cannot stress enough the importance of taking your time researching the breed and choosing a breeder who has the best interest of the Coton De Tulear at heart.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We urge you to do your research on the breed to decide if this is the best breed for you. While we feel the Coton De Tulear is the perfect companion it may not be the breed for you.
The internet can be a quite valuable tool providing information, however, it can also be harmful. The Coton De Tulear has been accepted into AKC but do your research on breeders who have AKC registered puppies as the breed is expensive. We strongly advise against price shopping.
Registries to be very leary of ACA, APRI,ARBA. Your Coton De Tulear puppy should be registered with at least one of the following registries. UKC (United Kennel Club), ACC (American Coton Club), USACTC (United States Coton De Tulear Club), AKC or CTCA.
We do not always have puppies available and feel they are worth the wait. Patience is the key when looking to add a Coton De Tulear puppy to your family. This breed has a lifespan on average of 16 plus years. Researching the breed and finding a breeder who will be there to support you and be available to answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to educate and provide a healthy, happy, loveable addition to your family.

I like to get the puppies together for a group picture, and the easiest way I found was a basket. Poor babies, first they get a bath and then they get put in a basket, I know they are thinking what is in store for us next!!! Oh we just LOVE them, just look at those sweet little faces... Enjoy pics of all our grandpuppies for the past 6.5yrs.
